Following the Irving Plaza shooting at a T.I. concert, that left one dead and five injured, Troy Ave will be charged with five felony counts.

According to TMZ, Troy Ave is being indicted on one count of attempted second degree murder and four other counts for criminal possession of a weapon. The NYPD had previously released a brief video that appeared to show the rapper firing a gun into a group of people attempting to escape the concert.

In email correspondence with Billboard, Troy Ave’s attorney, Scott Leemon, gave the following statement.

“Nothing in this indictment is a surprise or new. It’s the same wrong story that NYPD has been trying to portray. The video does not show everything nor explain what happened in the VIP room before Troy came running out, as a victim, after he was shot.”

Lemon added that he will request the judge release Troy on bail at his hearing on June 22.
