Zhu Unveils Title Track to Debut Album 'Generationwhy': Listen

In 2014, anonymous producer Zhu quietly blasted onto the dance scene with "Faded," which was one of the best singles that year. Fast forward to the summer of 2016 after earning loads of critical praise, a GRAMMY nomination and collaborations with Skrillex and Kaskade, the mysterious producer is still retaining his anonymity but will lift the veil a tiny bit for the release of his debut album Generationwhy.

The mysterious musician revealed the title track to his upcoming LP today, June 13, and we get to know Zhu slightly better from it. Over the crisp, warm synths that could soundtrack a nightclub or a sexy night in, "Generationwhy" features Zhu's own vocals and his laidback-yet-slightly-funk-inspired falsetto that melts right over the slinky production. The lyrics see Zhu making a new-age battle cry on the track, singing "We are the people of this generation / All the kids are waking up and they're naked when the beat drops."
