Originally stated to be revealed in two parts with two premiere dates, Avengers: Infinity Wars will now be a single film.
Disney announced Friday evening, as reported by Variety, that they will continue to release Avengers: Infinity War as previously indicated on May 4, 2018. However, the second Avengers film with the May 3, 2019 release date now is in search of another title. Anthony and Joe Russo are confirmed to direct both films.
Avengers: Infinity War is likely to start production later this year. Robert Downey Jr. and Jeremy Renner, who starred in the preceding films have been confirmed for Infinity War. The Russo brothers have directed the two earlier Captain America movies, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.
Joe Russo told Uproxx in May that “the movies are two very different movies.” Anthony added that the two upcoming Avengers films titles were “misleading” to be subtitled “Part 1” and “Part 2.”
