Even if you weren't in "the room where it happens," Hamilton fans can applaud one of their favorite original cast members after the fact as footage from Daveed Diggs' final curtain call is out there for your cheers.
Diggs—who took home the Best Supporting Actor statuette for his portrayal of Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson at the 2016 Tony Awards—gave his final performance in the smash musical in New York last night, and his standing ovation was caught on film. (Or, well, cell phone. You get it.)
Diggs is the latest original cast member to leave the show, and his departure follows that of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton's creator and up-until-recently titular leading man. From here, Diggs will be keeping busy, both onscreen and onstage: He'll be working with Clipping., his rap group, and it was just announced that he will be acting alongside Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay in the film adaptation of Y.A. novel Wonder.
Congrats, Daveed! Keep tabs on Diggs in his future endeavors, and check out Fuse's Back of the Class podcast below, which discusses Hamilton in this particular episode.
