Meet GEM: Spice Girls Change Name & Reunite as a Trio for 20th Anniversary

After endless rumors about a reunion tour, the Spice Girls have officially confirmed they are coming together to celebrate their 20th anniversary. But it's not what you'd expect! The ladies seem to be taking note from their 1996 single "2 Become 1," because the fivesome is now a threesome.

As expected, Mel C and Victoria Beckham will not take part in the reunion. This leaves Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell, who are moving on as a trio called GEM. The move is reminiscent of the time when three members of U.K. girl group Sugababes left to form Mutya Keisha Siobhan in 2011 (it was a sad and confusing time for pop fans).

In GEM's video announcement, they excitedly reveal:

"We've been thinking...we have the best fans in the entire world. You've stood by us for 20 years, and we wanna say a big thank you. We've had our ups and downs, but you've always been there. And we wanna celebrate and have a party. And when we do...you're all invited!"

There's no word of when the anniversary rollout will begin, but deep down our nostalgic hearts wish that Posh Spice and Sporty Spice would also show up the party. Continue to spice up your life by jamming to these previously unreleased tracks from the girl group's vault.
