Lin-Manuel Miranda Says Goodbye at His Final ’Hamilton’ Curtain Call

Hamilton’s original cast had an emotional curtail call last night, as they said farewell to the Broadway play’s creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In addition to Miranda, Saturday night’s performance was the last for Leslie Odom Jr. and Phillipa Soo, along with ensemble member Ariana DeBose. As the cast made their final bows, the orchestra played The West Wing theme song, which The Hollywood Reporter points out is a favorite of Miranda’s. Watch the final curtail call above.

After the show ended, Miranda ceremonially cut off his ponytail, which he grew for the role. Find the picture above. Miranda, who played Alexander Hamilton, will be succeeded by Javier Muñoz, Miranda’s longtime alternate. Following the performance, Muñoz and cast member Daveed Diggs celebrated by taking shots from their Grammy award. Watch, below.
