Six years ago, on August 31, 2010, Jaden Smith leapt onstage with Justin Bieber during the Canadian heartthrob's biggest show of his career thus far: his first Madison Square Garden concert. In a scarlet blazer, he rapped his part to Bieber's "Never Say Never" with gusto.
Last night, Jaden and Justin recreated that iconic moment, which was originally captured on Bieber's first concert film, performing "Never Say Never" once again for the Purpose Tour's second night at MSG.
Doesn't that bring back memories?
This isn't the first time this tour that Bieber and Jaden reunited. In November, they performed the song at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
Last night, Bieber also brought out Travis Scott to perform Purpose cut "No Sense."
While the fans at MSG got a night chock full of cameos, it wasn't hard to recognize the significance of the night. Bieber has come so far. And so has Jaden Smith, who just became the first solo male to grace the cover of Nylon, along with becoming the face of Louis Vuitton's womenswear collection at the top of the year and dropping a new song on his 18th birthday earlier this month.
Not so long ago, their MSG performance looked like this:
A few months after that, they taught fans how to "dougie" at MSG during Jingle Ball:
After Tuesday night's concert, Bieber commemorated the moment on Instagram, writing, "Love you brother man."
