Get ready for round two of sugar, spice and everything nice, because the rebooted Powerpuff Girls series is returning to TV for a second season. Cartoon Network announced the news today, after the popular animated series was revived back in April for the younger generation. Cartoon Network CCO Rob Sorcher said in a statement,
“The Powerpuff Girls is on a momentous run with its first Emmy nod, a debut appearance at one of the biggest fan events of the year, and now a second season greenlight. Congratulations to the Cartoon Network creative teams who have super-powered this property with the perfect amount of Chemical X to bring a hit show for a new generation of fans.”
There is no word of when Season 2 of the series, which earned an Emmy nod this year for best short-form animated program, will premiere. But fans who are bursting with anticipating will be able to get their fix at San Diego's Comic-Con later this week, where Powerpuff Girls will have a panel and a Townsville-inspired booth at the event.
