In an effusive Facebook post written on Wednesday, Sarah Silverman explained that a recent brush with an extremely rare disease had her fighting for her life.
The comedian explained that she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last week after contracting Epiglottitis—a rare disease that inflames protective tissue surrounding the windpipe. She described the ordeal as harrowing, but heaped praise on the hospital staff, whom she likened to heroes.
