The ‘Saw’ Franchise is Returning in 2017

Fans of Jigsaw and his various sadistic co-baddies will be pleased to know that the Saw franchise is officially coming back.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate has announced a 2017 return for the horror franchise, with the seventh Saw film set for Oct. 27, 2017. Michael and Peter Spierig (Undead, Daybreak’s) are set to direct the as-yet-untitled film.

Including the 2004 original, which was a psychological slasher starring Cary Elwes and Danny Glover, there have been a total of seven Saw films. The most recent entry, 2010’s Saw: The Final Chapter, no longer seems to be a final chapter at all.
