Supergirl's not wasting any time bringing in a famous, similarly named hero. In this fall's second season, the CBS series will introduce its own Superman, played by Tyler Hoechlin, a 28-year-old graduate of Teen Wolf and 7th Heaven. Today we've got a look at him in character, and yup, he looks like a strapping young Superman.
It was previously reported that Clark Kent and his besuited alias will show up for the first two episodes of Supergirl Season 2. “Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have super powers on earth,” said executive producer. “There’s some head-butting and philosophical approaches that are different. We'll get into that.”
Hoechlin said the opportunity to become the character pioneered by actors like Christopher Reeve and Dean Cain is "incredibly surreal." Henry Cavill is our current big-screen Superman; he'll next appear in next year's Justice League.
