Hopefully everyone learned their lesson with the Frank Ocean "confirmed" album release hoopla last week, so take this news with a grain (or three) of salt. According to Pitchfork, Bon Iver will debut their third album with a live performance this Friday, Aug. 12.
The event is reportedly set to take place at band members Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner's Eaux Claires festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. There is no confirmation about the upcoming album's release date, but there is one clue that give some insight of what's to come.
In July, the band uploaded a "#22days" teaser on YouTube, with a creepy voice saying "It might be over soon" amongst abstract imagery. Stereogum also pointed out that a mural popped up in Brooklyn, and the artwork matches Bon Iver's new Instagram logo.
In the midst of the speculation, Justin Vernon and buddy Kanye West teamed up with Francis and the Lights last month for the pop group's "Friends" video. While we wait to see what happens with Bon Iver on Friday, flip through our playlist of ultimate camping songs.
