Britney Spears Makes Triumphant Return to VMAs Stage for 'Make Me...' Performance: Watch
Last time Britney Spears performed at the MTV Video Music Awards was nine years ago for her 2007 "Gimme More" set that turned into one of the most infamous performances in the ceremony's history. But tonight, the pop superstar rewrote the narrative with a performance that displayed how much of a pro she still is nearly two decades into her career.
Britney started the performance solo, slithering onstage as the opening notes to her single “Make Me…” rang out in Madison Square Garden, and eventually she was joined by the song’s special guest, G-Eazy. The rapper switched over to his hit “Me, Myself & I” with Brit dutifully singing the hook; on two occasions she kneeled behind him and crept through his legs. The pair finished the show with their eyes locked and the crowd going wild at Brit’s big VMAs return.
