'Dunkirk': Watch the First Trailer for Christopher Nolan's Latest Film

Christopher Nolan seems to do no wrong when it comes to films, and his latest effort looks unsurprisingly intriguing. The first trailer for Dunkirk has arrived, which is short enough to keep viewers on the edge of anticipation.

The teaser doesn't reveal much about the World War II epic, as it mainly focuses on a troop of soldiers fearfully looking up at the sky at impending doom. Is it an air missile? A bomb? Machine guns? The screen cuts to black before we're able to find out.

Dunkirk—Nolan's first full-length film since 2014's Interstellar—is based on a true story of the 1940 evacuation of Allied soldiers, who were surrounded by Nazi troops in France's Dunkirk seaport. It stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Fionn Whitehead Bridge of Spies' Mark Rylance and One Direction's Harry Styles in his debut role.

Look out for Dunkirk on July 21, 2017, and check out our roundup of the biggest box office earnings of the last decade.
