Jared Leto is ready for his next role, after portraying the intense psychotic villain The Joker in this summer's Suicide Squad. He's reportedly joined the sequel to Blade Runner, directed by Denis Villeneuve and coming from Alcon Entertainment, with a "key role."
The original Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott in 1982, adapted the Philip K. Dick sci-fi thriller and stars Harrison Ford as a titular police operative hunting android "replicants."
“He is a phenomenal actor, and we know he will create a truly memorable, never-before-seen character,” producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in a press release.
The film, set for an Oct. 6, 2017, release, also stars Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi and Dave Bautista. Hopefully, not all of Leto's scenes will be cut from this one: his biggest beef in the past month of Suicide Squad promo.
