The highly anticipated Jumanji sequel has landed its female lead: Karen Gillan, best known for her work in Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy, has joined a cast that already includes Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas.

According to Deadline, Gillan has signed on just one month before principal photography begins in Honolulu. Jumanji, directed by Jake Kasdan, is set for a July 28, 2017 release.

Gillan will also be seen next summer in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, reprising her role of Nebula. The Scottish actress appeared in The Big Short and will show up in the forthcoming adaptation of Dave Eggers’ The Circle.

As clarified earlier this month, the new Jumanji will be a sequel to the 1995 original, not a reboot. “Man this is gonna be FUN," Johnson, who is executive producing Fuse’s upcoming Clash of the Corps series, wrote of Jumanji on Instagram.
