Taylor Swift’s public persona has been poked and prodded over the past few months, but here’s an unequivocally positive move: The pop superstar is donating $1 million to Louisiana flood relief.
The state has experienced torrential downpours that have caused widespread flooding and at least 11 deaths. Swift calls the situation “heartbreaking” in a statement to the Associated Press.
"We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home,” she says. “The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking.”
Swift continued, "I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Swift is donating a new album to the masses this fall. Fingers crossed for 2017!
