The Amanda Knox murder trial has been one of the most controversial cases in recent years, and now Netflix continues to make you wonder if she really did it. They released two trailers, titled "Believe Her" and "Suspect Her," ahead of the anticipated documentary.
"Suddenly I found myself tossed into this dark place. I was so scared," Amanda says in the first trailer as tears stream down her face. But as you as you begin to feel slight compassion for her, the second clip gives more reason to not trust her. “Either I am a psychopath in sheep’s clothing or I am you," she states.
The documentary takes a deeper look into the 2007 trial where Knox was accused of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher while studying abroad in Perugia, Italy. She was convicted twice and acquitted by the Italian courts. Knox's ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, Italian prosecutor Giuliano Mignini and Daily Mail reporter Nick Pisa all make appearances.
Amanda Knox is directed by Rod Blackhurst (Here Alone) and Brian McGinn (Chef’s Table), and produced by Mette Heide (India’s Daughter). After it makes its debut at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9, the documentary will premiere worldwide on Netflix Sept. 30.
