Jon Favreau will be entering the Marvel world once again, as Variety reports the actor-director plans to reprise his Iron Man role in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming. Favreau played Happy Hogan, Tony Stark's personal driver, throughout the superhero franchise.

The actor joins the Spider-Man cast with friend Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Other rumored cast mates include Michael Keaton as villain Vulture, Zendaya as Mary Jane Watson and Danny Glover in a potential role.

Jon Favreau's last appearance as an actor in a Marvel film was 2013's Iron Man 3, but he did executive produce 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron and will produce Avengers: Infinity War (out May 2018).

Spider-Man: Homecoming (directed by Jon Watts) will climb into theaters on July 7, 2017. Ahead of the premiere, get into the Marvel zone by reading our complete guide to the next nine Marvel films and watching some cool cosplayers at Comic-Con below:
