Meghan Trainor's 'Better' Video Is a Dark Story of Alcohol Abuse: Watch

Meghan Trainor is known for her bright, spunky image, most often crystallized in her music videos. But for "Better," the new single from May's Thank You LP, the singer decided to get a little more raw and tell an important story that doesn't come off as too try-hard.

The Tim Mattia-directed video plays more like a dramatic short film, beginning with Trainor picking up her drunk and disoriented grandfather from jail. The dark tale continues, showing Meghan (who plays a hairdresser) trying to look after his alcoholic, pill-loving antics. Yo Gotti, the guest feature on the reggae-tinged tune, portrays a bartender.
