The My Little Pony faithful will get something extra exciting under their Christmas trees this year. A Pony Kind of Christmas, the aptly titled holiday album based on the popular franchise, will arrive on Oct. 7 from Hasbro Studios and Sony Music/Legacy Recordings, Fuse can exclusively report.
A Pony Kind of Christmas is actually an expanded version of last year’s My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic holiday album. The re-edition will be the first time the album is available for physical purchase, and will include five new songs.
In addition, fans will receive a special reversible booklet with a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Christmas poster with each CD purchase. The album is also be available digitally, and pre-orders have begun today.
The album will be available nearly one year to the day before My Little Pony: The Movie arrives in theaters on Oct. 6, 2017. Emily Blunt, Uzo Aduba and Kristen Chenoweth are part of the cast of voice actors, as is Sia, who will contribute new music to the film’s soundtrack.
