Is a new Miley Cyrus album closer than we think?
Last night on The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon teased what was coming on the Sept. 16 episode and that included an appearance and performance from the "Wrecking Ball" singer. "Miley's going to perform for us, a new song, it's pretty cool what she's doing" he told the audience. "I don't want to spoil it, but it's something different." Watch a fan-recorded clip of the announcement below:
Depending on what route she takes, "something different" for Miley could mean her returning to a pop-friendly sound after 2015's experimental, free album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz that was created largely with The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne. Or will Cyrus embrace an entirely new sound?
In any case, the timing is spot-on as the 23-year-old is currently a coach on the ratings winner The Voice and will undoubtedly get some great exposure for whatever project she has coming for us.
