The Revolution, Prince’s iconic backing band, has reunited for a series of performances, and naturally kicked off the live run in Minneapolis with a slew of legendary singles from the Purple One.

Performing the first of three shows at First Avenue (where a lot of the Purple Rain film was shot), The Revolution performed hits like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain,” “1999” and “When Doves Cry.” Bilal, who helped honor Prince at the BET Awards in June, performed “The Beautiful Ones” and "Baby I'm a Star" as a special guest.

Bassist André Cymone and Purple Rain star Apollonia were also on-hand for the tribute performance. Apollonia recently penned a moving open letter to Prince, who passed away in April.
