Corporeal late night TV hosts generally do not visit cartoon worlds mid-show. Unless you're Jimmy Kimmel on October 13, 2016.
Thursday night, the funnyman did the rite of passage that is the Simpsons cameo, except he did it on an episode of his own show. Watch above as Homer kicks Kimmel out of his Live! TV and into his own historic living room. Homie proceeds to give Jimmy a tour of Springfield, stopping by Moe's ("it's even more depressing than I imagined"), the power plant and Bart's chalkboard ("I will not make celebrities read mean tweets," Kimmel scribbles).
Kimmel had not previously guest-starred on The Simpsons, although his forerunners Conan O'Brien, David Letterman and Jay Leno have. Kimmel beats Jimmy Fallon in the race for the ultimate cartoon honor.
The stunt came in tandem with The Simpsons' 600th episode, airing on Sunday. It'll also be the 27th "Treehouse of Horror" Halloween anthology episode.
