Lady Gaga has released her latest Joanne track, "A-YO," which will have you ready to dust off your cowboy boots and shake something wicked. Co-produced by Gaga, Mark Ronson, and BloodPop (the same guys behind "Perfect Illusion"), it's a Southern-tinged fusion of funk, blues, country and Mother Monster's weirdo pop.
Gaga penned the track alongside country hitmaker Hillary Lindsey, which explains the rowdy Nashville vibes. "I can't wait to rev you up / Faster than you can say 'Ferrari' / Tearin' up the gravel, watching you unravel / Now it's a party," the singer warbles on the track. The pop star debuted the track earlier this month, which is dripping with bedazzled twang, during her dive bar tour. "I have a general and deep respect for all country musicians, but I myself am not a country musician. I'm just a musician period," she explained in a recent interview. "I love all different kinds of music and this is just what I wrote."
"A-YO" follows the sparkling disco "Perfect Illusion" jam and the soul-baring "Million Reasons" (also co-written by Lindsey). Look out for Joanne this Friday, Oct. 21.
