Great news for a live-action remake that's going to involve gigantic horses-and-blades battle sequences: one of Game of Thrones' top-tier directors, Alex Graves, is directing Disney's new Mulan. Variety confirmed the news.
Graves is known for his Season 3 and 4 Thrones work, having brought us episodes like "And Now His Watch Is Ended," "The Mountain and the Viper" and "The Children." He's also worked on Homeland, Bloodline and The West Wing.
Last week, controversy once again hit the Mulan remake as an industry insider claimed to have spotted a white European love interest prominently featured in the script. A Vanity Fair source responded with, “Mulan is and will always be the lead character in the story, and all primary roles, including the love interest, are Chinese.”
The Mulan remake was previously petitioned to not whitewash the principal roles.
