Niall Horan is officially kicking off his solo career stateside! The One Direction member made his live U.S. TV debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, where he performed his new solo track "This Town."
The singer, who Ellen introduced as "my Irish brother from another mother," looked mature with slicked Elvis-style hair and a scruffy five o'clock shadow. It was just Horan and his trusty guitar on the stage as he sung the chorus ever so sweetly: "Cause if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you / Drive highways and byways to be there with you / Over and over the only truth / Everything comes back to you."
Along with the performance, the singer played a fun game of Would You Rather? with the host. He chose Rihanna over Taylor Swift, and picked rumored former flame Ellie Goulding over Rita Ora, Jennifer Lopez and Kendall Jenner. Watch that below:
Last month, Horan revealed he signed a deal with Capitol Records. "I'm excited to announce I have signed a record deal with Capitol Records USA and released my first solo song," he said. "Thank you to all the One Direction fans for your love and support as always. I'm looking forward to the next part of this journey together."
So what are his fellow 1D members up to? Liam Payne recently joined Republic Records, while Harry Styles signed with Columbia back in June and has a role in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk. And we all know the dramatic breakup story with Zayn Malik.
