Spotify released this year's 25 Under 25 playlist, and it features many of your favorite artists. Big names and rising ones alike made the cut, including Justin Bieber, Rae Sremmurd, Zara Larsson, Selena Gomez, Desiigner, Daya and more. The list is based on artist's streams per month on the service, popularity within their genre, and placements on Spotify's top playlists.
Rounding out the top three is Chance the Rapper, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes. The Illuminate star snagged the No. 1 spot with his "Treat You Better" single, which is currently sitting at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mendes snagged 25 million Spotify listeners each month and over 500 million streams of his "Stitches" single.
Spotify Digital Trends Expert Shanon Cook said in a statement:
"With so many young listeners on Spotify, it's always fascinating to hone in on the peer artists they're listening to and looking up to. It seems there are more musicians than ever under the age of 25 who are doing well, and while it's always good to see returning stars like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Rae Sremmurd, this year's list also highlights newcomers like singer-songwriter Joel Adams and alt-rock band Nothing But Thieves, whose tracks are really engaging listeners and gaining traction in popular playlists."
