Tommy Ford, 'Martin' and 'The Parkers' Star, Dies at 52

Tommy Ford, one of the stars of hit '90s series Martin, has passed away at the age of 52. There were speculations about the actor's health earlier today on social media, but the unfortunate news of his passing was confirmed by TMZ. He was taken off life support an Atlanta hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Ford was hospitalized after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen on Oct. 9, and wasn't able to make a recovery. He was surrounded by family and friends. The actor has given us many laughs throughout his career, thanks to roles on classic '90s shows Martin and The Parkers.

The actor played Martin Lawrence's best friend Thomas “Tommy” Strawn on Martin, which aired from 1992 to 1997. He then went on to play Mel Parker on The Parkers from 1999 to 2001. Ford was also featured on A Different World, New York Undercover and The Jamie Foxx Show. After a mini break from acting, he returned to be a judge on TV One’s comedy competition series Who’s Got Jokes? from 2006-2008.
