Ahead of the 2016 American Music Awards this Sunday, the show released the nominees for one of their biggest categories: Artist of the Year. Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Carrie Underwood are all up for the major award.
The pop stars are bound to make an appearance at the ceremony, but interestingly enough Ariana Grande is the only one out of the five who is performing. She will rock the stage with her "Side to Side" single with Nicki Minaj.
Along with the ladies, Kendrick Lamar and Maroon 5 will give their live TV debut performance of "Don't Wanna Know." The Weeknd, John Legend, Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars and many more are also set to perform. Drake has a record-breaking 13 nominations, with Rihanna trailing with seven nods.
The 2016 American Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Before then, watch a Fuse throwback clip where a 2006 Rihanna discusses living in Barbados.
