'Scandal' Releases Explosive Season 6 Trailer & Premiere Date: Watch

The drama continues to bubble over in season 6 of ABC's Scandal, whose trailer premiered today. It only runs for 30 seconds, but it's just enough to get us fans in a tizzy about who won the election. Will it be Republican Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) or Democrat Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira)? The Trump vs. Clinton spectacle has nothing on this!

The trailer's voiceover teases "in the first 10 minutes alone, you're not gonna know what hit you." But after five seasons, we expect series creator Shonda Rhimes to knock us over with crazy plot twists. Watch above as Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) yells at Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) per usual, and Quinn and Huck witness a wood cabin explode.

Scandal's season 6 premiere will air on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. According to EW, Rhimes' other shows (Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder) will also return from a winter hiatus to rejoin the TGIT lineup following their Nov. 17 midseason finales.
