First Full 'Lemony Snicket' Trailer: Netflix Promises a Sadistic World of Wonder

Before today, two Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events teasers did exactly their jobs: teased us, bad. Today's full-length trailer lets us dig significantly deeper into Netlix's eight-episode adaptation.

Fans of the Daniel Handler children's novels will get their first looks at Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Catherine O'Hara as Dr. Georgina Orwell (after playing Strauss in the 2004 movie version!) and Neil Patrick Harris' Count Olaf in disguise as Captain Sham. Plus the promise that we'll be covering a ton of content from the 13 Lemony Snicket books.

Netlix's official description for the series goes like this:

"A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans—Violet, Klaus, and Sunny—whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death."

The show, which follows the 2004 movie version starring Jim Carrey and Jude Law, drops on Netflix on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. In addition to the aforementioned stars, it's got Aasif Mandvi and Patrick Warburton.
