Blade Runner 2049, after almost 20 years in works, is coming in October 2017. And today there's video proof. Watch the sci-fi sequel's first trailer above.
The clip opens with one of Rick Deckard's lines from the 1982 original, directed by Ridley Scott and based on a Philip K. Dick novel: "Replicants are like any other machine: they're either a benefit or a hazard. If they're a benefit, it's not my problem."
Ford has shown himself game to reprise his classic roles in the last decade, first putting on Indiana Jones' hat in 2008's Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then strapping on Han Solo's blaster for last year's The Force Awakens. There better be an Air Force One sequel soon.
Blade Runner 2049 also stars Ryan Gosling (whom Ford punched in the face on set), Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi and Guardians of the Galaxy breakout/WWE veteran Dave Bautista. Ridley Scott's only executive producing this time, with Québec's Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, the very-buzzy-right-now Arrival) at the helm. Original co-writer Hampton Fancher is back on screenplay duties, having only written two projects since Blade Runner. This time he's joined by Michael Green (Gotham, the upcoming Alien: Covenant and Logan).
