Louis Tomlinson's mother, Johannah Deakin, died on Wednesday at age 43 after battling leukemia, according to Us Weekly.

“Earlier this year, Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukemia that required immediate and continuous treatment," husband Dan Deakin told the magazine. "We respectfully request that the family are given time and space to grieve in private."

He continued:

"Incredibly selfless, she would always look to put other people before herself. She desired nothing more than for everyone around her to be happy and loving. She worked tirelessly on numerous charity campaigns, creating memories for many individuals and their families.”

Just two weeks ago, the former One Direction member posted an adorable tribute to his mom on Instagram, saying that he missed her. He is expected to sing a tribute to her on X Factor on Saturday night.

Tomlinson himself became a parent earlier this year, welcoming son Freddie into his life in January with Briana Jungwirth.

Friends of Louis' have come out in public support of the singer, sharing their condolences on social media.
