He's baaackkk!! Chucky will return to his serial killer ways in Cult of Chucky, the seventh movie in the classic horror franchise. Entertainment Weekly confirmed it will begin filming in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada next week. The teaser trailer is a nostalgic (and bloody) trip that highlights previous films, which is tied together by the manic doll's wicked laugh.
Cult of Chucky will follow Nica Pierce (played by Fiona Dourif), who has been in the insane asylum for four years and thinks she killed her family instead of Chucky. Brad Dourif, Fiona's father, is set to reprise his iconic role as the voice of the murderous doll. It is written and directed by Dan Mancini, who penned all the prior films and directed 2004's Seed of Chucky and 2013's Curse of Chucky.
Chucky franchise alums Alex Vincent (Child's Play 1 and 2) and Jennifer Tilly (Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky) will also be featured in the new movie. Vincent returns as the now-grown-up Andy Barclay, while Tilly is playing Chucky's bride Tiffany. Cult of Chucky will terrorize theaters sometime in 2017.
