We're only five days into 2017 and there is already a reboot announcement (despite our request to leave those in 2016). The CW revealed they have a Charmed remake in the works, Variety reports.

The network won't be giving the original TV series a modern twist, though. Instead they plan for the new version to be set in 1976. Charmed premiered on The WB in October 1998, and ran for eight seasons through 2006. The show follows three sisters (a.k.a. the Charmed Ones) in San Francisco who used their bewitching powers to protect their innocent people from evil forces.

The last show starred Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan, and was produced by Aaron Spelling. As of now, there is no word if the original cast will appear in the reimagining. Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Urman will be writing and executive producing alongside Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, who have both worked on Virgin.

The Charmed reboot is currently in the script stage, so a cast has not been chosen yet. Before then, reminisce when the Halliwell sisters go back in time to 1975—the year before the remake will take place:
