'XX' Trailer: All-Female Horror Anthology Features St. Vincent's Directorial Debut

There's loads of legendary horror-film directors—Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Alfred Hitchcock, M. Night Shyamalan come to mind automatically—but the most celebrated ones all tend to be dudes when you take a closer look.

Upcoming horror anthology XX looks to change that with a release driven entirely by female directors. Watch above for the trailer that features work by Annie Clark (a.k.a. St. Vincent, who is making her directing debut here!), Karyn Kusama (known for The Invitation), Roxanne Benjamin (Southbound, the V/H/S series) and short-film director Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird). Animator Sofia Carrillo (La Casa Triste) weaves them all together. Watch the trailer above.

XX hits theaters and will be available on demand, on iTunes and Amazon Video on Feb. 17.
