Katy Perry is coming! Seemingly out of nowhere, the superstar singer is making her comeback to the pop scene and making sure the world is ready for it. With a new single "Chained to the Rhythm" coming on Friday, Feb. 10, here's everything you need to know about the majorly anticipated return.
"Chained to the Rhythm" is Katy's new single and fans got the first taste of it when the starlet shared a clip on social media of a rolling chained disco ball and about five full seconds of audio. It seems like our girl is going for a disco-tinged reggae sound that would certainly mark new sonic territory for Perry. Take a listen below:
A since-deleted report from Billboard indicated that the new song includes heavy involvement from Skip Marley, one of Bob Marley's grandsons. As well, production credits say the track was written by Katy, Sia and super-pop producer Max Martin.
Fans around the world are getting an early listen to the song too thanks to random, chained disco balls that are playing the song in full. A great way to hype up listeners and ensure the song won't leak—it's literally chained!
