Update: Lorde tweeted "u hungry?" followed by a link to imwaitingforit.com, which so far just features the aforementioned clip.

Original story: It's been three and a half years since Lorde's debut album Pure Heroine, so honestly any piece of news has us ready to rumble at this point. And this one seems particularly worth it.

Sunday night on New Zealand television, Lorde dropped a brutally brief teaser for...something, coming March 2 in NYC, March 3 in New Zealand. The ad is soundtracked by a sunny instrumental that sounds unlike anything Lorde's given us yet. Watch it below:

So far Lorde hasn't shared or commented on the ad.

The 20-year-old artist will hit the SNL stage as musical guest on March 11, so it's all but guaranteed there's a single or two on the way by then, and it's not crazy to imagine her sophomore album coming in full. Earlier in a February, a Republic Records page indicated that Lorde's new music would drop on March 7.

The singer previously said the new album's lyrics are "the best I’ve written in my life," and explained the vibe as such:

"Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record - well, this one is about what comes next."

Lorde is booked for a slew of 2017 festivals already, including Coachella and New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in April, plus Governors BallFree Press Summer Fest and Bonnaroo in June.
