Just when you thought we already had enough reboots, Netflix announced they've found their Ms. Frizzle for the upcoming Magic School Bus revival! Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters) is set to play our favorite eccentric schoolteacher.
The Netflix series is officially titled Magic School Bus Rides Again but there is no set release date. It will be a modern version of the classic animated children's series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The old-school school bus is now a high-tech machine and will include new innovations like robotics, wearables and camera technology to get young kids excited about science.
Scholastic Media president Deborah Forte (Clifford the Big Red Dog, Goosebumps) will be the reboot's executive producer. Prior to McKinnon, Grace and Frankie's Lily Tomlin voiced Ms. Frizzle throughout the series, a role that landed her a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. The original Magic School Bus aired on PBS for four seasons from 1994-1997.
