Looks Like Zac Farro Really Is Back in Paramore, People

Much like they did in June 2015, Paramore just got the internets churning with the notion that original drummer Zac Farro, who left the band in 2010 with his guitarist brother Josh, was back.

Farro put a stop to that by July, saying he'd been asked to play for the new album, but was focusing on his other band, HalfNoise. "We’ve always been friends," he said, "and yeah, there was a little bit of weirdness cause I left the band for a few years, but all that stuff is not even there anymore and there’s no hard feelings and it’s just been rad and fun."

So it was pretty clear that he wasn’t joining the band again, but that he might, or something. In October 2016 we learned that Hayley Williams had finished tracking her vocals for the band’s fifth album, which will be their first since 2013’s self-titled.

Now Paramore’s posted the snapshot above on all their social media accounts; that Warhol’d-up portrait of a shyly smiling little guy may or may not be Zac Farro, but that @‘d verified account, bodegajonez, sure is Zac Farro. Also, Paramore’s site is now a T-shirt stand where this image is the one T-shirt you may buy, for $25.

After the Farro Bros. left the band in 2010, Josh said, "In reality, what started as natural somehow morphed into a manufactured product of a major label, riding on the coattails of ‘Hayley’s dream.’” But last January he updated NME in an interview:

"We bump into each other and chat like old friends. It’s a good feeling to know that you’re on good terms with someone you had a bad breakup with, so all’s well now. Maybe one day we’ll be really good friends again and be able to hang out, but as of right now it’s taking those next steps of, ‘Okay at first it was raw and nobody wanted to talk to each other’ and now I feel we’re at that stepping stone where we can be in each other’s presence and it’s good now and everybody feels great, but maybe that next step is hanging out. Who knows? Maybe it’s in the near future.”

Josh also added that he would not join the band again if asked, saying, "I’m trying to focus on my career and I really believe in my music." He did allow that "it would be interesting to ever be asked to rejoin the band but I don’t think it would ever happen."
