Gorillaz Officially Announce New Album Title, Date, Featured Artists
Update (3/23): The long-awaited new Gorillaz album is titled Humanz and will arrive April 28. Their Instagram spelled out the title one pic at a time, creating a six-post spread with the featured acts' faces artfully collaged into the letters. (Followed by what you see above.) Several songs (potentially four) will premiere today at 3:30pm EST on BBC Radio 1.
So while the recently leaked list of songs (scroll down) has not been entirely confirmed or clarified, the collaborators have. As previously reported, Gorillaz' Humanz will have Carly Simon, D.R.A.M., Popcaan, Grace Jones, De La Soul, Anthony Hamilton, Danny Brown, Pusha T, Mavis Staples, Kali Uchis, Kelela, Savages' Jehnny Beth, Vince Staples, Kilo Kish, Zebra Katz and, on the previously heard single "Hallelujah Money," Benjamin Clementine.
Four of the new Gorillaz songs were briefly listed on Tidal today, all in line with the rumored tracklist. They're “Ascension” featuring Vince Staples, “We Got the Power” feat. Jehnny Beth, “Saturnz Barnz” feat. Popcaan and “Andromeda” feat. D.R.A.M.
