Trailer Arrives for 'Pokémon the Movie 20: I Choose You'

Pokémon has both a million games and a million movies. Well, 20 movies, as of this summer. Pokémon the Movie 20: I Choose You is the lucky project, and today it’s got a new trailer. Watch above. It’s in Japanese.

Kunihiko Yuyama, the 64-year-old who has helmed more than 20 Pokémon movies and TV series/specials, returned as director. Last July he released Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

Polygon informs us the film will be “a feature-length, glossier retelling of the very first episodes of the Pokémon cartoon,” which should include “Pikachu at its bratty finest, Ash at his most idealistic (and naive), and a slight hint of Pokémon’s ever-expanding Pokédex.”

Pokémon GO recently announced the addition of more than 80 critters to its ranks, while a new mobile game called Pokémon Duel was unveiled in January.
