New 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Trailer Is as Good as Trailers Get

If you've rewatched last year's Captain America: Civil War since it came to Netflix, you got reintroduced to our wonderful new Spider-Man, the 20-year-old Brit by the name of Tom Holland. Today we're getting reintroduced to his first standalone movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, via the pitch-perfect second trailer.

This one's got a dash of Iron Man, a heaping helping of Michael Keaton's villainous Vulture and exactly the right ratio of heavy action to light plot. It's encouraging to get the vibe that this could be a MCU film in the "we've gotta stop this very bad dude" mode rather than the all-out "we've gotta SAVE THE WHOLE WORLD" schtick.

Among the fun bits: Peter Parker slyly bragging that he stole Captain America's shield, and his buddy donning the suit for funsies, subtly acknowledging the fact that multiple webslingers dwell in the Marvel comics themselves, from Miles Morales to Spider-Gwen to Spider-Woman and beyond.
