The second trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is here, and it will whisk you away to an alternate reality filled with mystique, romance and a lot of danger. Like the debut teaser, the allure is soundtracked by The Beatles' 1969 psychedelic tune “Because.”
Starring The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Dane DeHaan as Valerian and Suicide Squad's Cara Delevingne as Laureline, the two go on a mission in the city of Alpha that is made up of thousands of different species from all across the universe. There, they try to overcome dangerous aliens throughout the galaxy. The trailer also shows another glimpse of Rihanna as a sultry cabaret performer.
Valerian is directed by Luc Besson, the man behind cult classics The Fifth Element, Léon: The Professional and Lucy. The cast also includes Herbie Hancock, John Goodman, Clive Owen and Ethan Hawke. The film is an adaptation of the 1967 French Valérian and Laureline comic series, written by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézière. Look out for it in theaters on July 21, 2017.
