The Hills are alive...with a baby! Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt announced their having their first child. The former stars of the MTV reality series confirmed the news with US Weekly, which is completely fitting as Pratt is well-known for breaking down the celebrity tabloid on his Snapchat.
“The look on her face, I can’t even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread," he said of the morning when he found out the news. “Heidi said, ‘I’m pregnant.' I was like, ‘Whoa, that’s way more exciting than banana bread!'" The magazine states Montag's due date is October 19 and they don't know the sex of the baby yet.
The couple, who has been married for eight years, revealed why they waited so long to have a child. Montag explains,
"I wanted a baby three years ago. Spencer was a little hesitant. Then one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like Celebrity Big Brother in the U.K., which I did not want to be pregnant for. I’m actually really thankful we waited. I thought I was ready in my twenties, but with everything we had going on, it just wouldn’t have been a good situation for us."
Montag and Pratt, also known by reality fans as Speidi, became popular as the key members of MTV The Hills. The two weren't happy about last year's 10th anniversary special, as they felt former enemy Lauren Conrad remained the main focus of the show. "Lauren is narrating all our lives again," Montag wrote while liveblogging the show for Broadly. "Surprise! It's all about Lauren. Blogs have advertised the show as a 'reunion,' but it's really an LC special."
