Last week, KCON kicked off their artist lineup announcement with two major acts and now the world's No. 1 Korean-culture festival adds GFriend to its New York date for their first-ever East Coast appearance.
Alongside a slate of still-to-be-revealed acts coming to both the NY and Los Angeles dates, the throwback-inspired girl group will meet attendees and take the stage at the massive Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Just like last year, KCON New York will boast two days of panels, workshops, food trucks, artist meet-and-greets and convention fun along with two days of concerts. In addition to everything a K-pop fan could want, KCON has promised expanded offerings in the K-beauty, K-food, and e-sports scenes. Don't miss KCON's newly designed logo above.
Since breaking out into the K-pop scene in 2015, GFriend has grown and evolved as artists with their latest release The Awakening featuring the retro-tinged single "Fingertip" earning them their highest-charting effort in America to date. The girl group performed at KCON Los Angeles last year and the New York appearance will be their first on the other coast.
KCON returns to the New York area on June 23 and 24. A month later, the fest will hit Los Angeles for three days of fun during August 18-20 at the city's famous Staples Center. Stay tuned for more artist annoucements and reveals.
