Tame Impala Threaten to Sue Over Copycat Chinese Blueberry Milk Ad

In today's weird news, Tame Impala is threatening to file a lawsuit against Chinese dairy company Mengniu over a...blueberry milk ad? Frontman Kevin Parker posted the commercial on Instagram and called out the song it used, stating it sounds too familiar to the band's 2015 Currents track “The Less I Know the Better.”

“I mean COME ON guys at least put some effort in," he wrote in the caption. Parker also tagged the band’s Australian publishing company Sony/ATV Australia, along with the hashtags #lawsuit and #nowitsmyturn. Billboard points out the latter tag is in reference to funk band Skull Snaps' lawsuit that claims Tame Impala ripped off their 1973 song "It’s A New Day" on "Eventually." So if they follow through with the lawsuit, things are about to get very real for Mengniu.
