In her first significant movie role since 2010's Burlesque, Christina Aguilera has joined the science-fiction romance Zoe. Also coming on board today are Rashida Jones and Theo James. They join the previously announced Ewan McGregor and Léa Seydoux, who will star, Variety writes, as "colleagues at a revolutionary research lab who design technology to improve and perfect romantic relationships."
Aguilera recently appeared in Pitch Perfect 2 as a Voice judge (she went Method) and on Nashville as Jade St. John. In Burlesque, she acted with Cher, Julianne Hough, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci and more.
Zoe is helmed by writer/director Drake Doremus (Like Crazy, Breathe In, Equals) and is scripted by Richard Greenberg (The Beauty Inside, One Fall). It starts filming in Montreal on May 8.
