Fall Out Boy put fans in a tizzy today with a mysterious new teaser that appears to be part of their MANIA promotion. It opens with a furry purple creature (similar to the llamas in the band's "Young and Menace" video) pouring purple cereal into a bowl.
The creature soon realizes it can't enjoy the goodies with the mask on. He frustratingly takes it off to reveal a very familiar face beneath. It is none other than—gasp!—Brendon Urie! So could this mean there is a collaboration between Fall Out Boy and the Panic! At the Disco frontman? The teaser's caption ominously states "Woke up on the wrong side of reality," so we just have to be patient and see what the guys have planned.
Fall Out Boy and Urie have worked together in the past, including "7 Minutes In Heaven (Atavan Halen)" from 2005’s From Under The Cork Tree album, as well as "What A Catch, Donnie" and "20 Dollar Nosebleed" from 2008’s Folie Á Deux. They're also all good friends of course, with Urie hilariously narrating FOB members' drunk history in 2014. Last January, he also jokingly threw jabs at the guys claiming Death of a Bachelor is way better than American Beauty/American Psycho.
MANIA, FOB's seventh album, will arrive on September 15. They are backing the album release with a tour that kicks off October 20 in Cleveland, Ohio with Blackbear announced as the supporting act. As for Urie? He's set to make his Broadway debut in Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre from May 26 through August 6.
